Faculty Development Plan

  Faculty Development Plan

The District Office of Human Resources has given faculty the ability to create their own development plans. Faculty can identify what development they intend to complete and would like to see offered.

"The Faculty Development Plan (FDP) is part of the annual performance system. FDP supports and enables an on-going dialogue between the faculty and academic leadership.

The Faculty Development Plan allows faculty to formalize a well thought-out professional development map that is individualistic in nature, but also tied to the mission and objectives of District, College, and/or programs.

As an indicator of sound practice, individual and organizational goals are not (and should not be) treated as isolated objectives (Minter, 2009). For example, learning design must take into considered of the outcomes assessments, which is mutually dependent upon the effectiveness of classroom delivery.

The process entails that faculty will draft their development plan in conference with their chair to pursue their professional interests and the goals of the institution."
