Alamo Colleges Faculty Development

Faculty Development sessions offered by the college are managed by the Alamo Colleges Department of Human Resources. They are intended to enhance the pedagogy skills, technology skills, and professional development of all faculty members. Most sessions are not required but are open and encouraged for all. Some sessions are held on campus; many are offered online (asynchronously) or via Zoom (synchronously); some are offered at locations throughout the Alamo Colleges and District locations. 


All sessions are listed in AlamoTALENT, the Alamo Colleges' talent management system. To access AlamoTALENT, log into ACES and click the Employee tab. Look for this channel (box) in the right column.

How to Navigate in AlamoTALENT


How to Locate the Event Calendar

  • At the home screen of AlamoTALENT
  • Go to My Learning and drop down to Event Calendar.


How to Search for an Event

  • Search in the top right search bar at the top right of the page using the keyword(s) for the session(s) you are looking for, such as "Tech Tuesday"


How to Register for a Session in AlamoTALENT

  • From the search bar or event calendar, choose the event you want to attend
  • On the event page, select the date you want to attend
  • Open the View Details drop down menu
  • Choose REQUEST from the menu
  • You should receive a calendar invite with the event details


How to View Your Transcript

  • You must be counted present at a session for it to show as completed on your transcript
  • In AlamoTALENT, go to My Learning and drop down to View Your Transcript
  • You can filter between Active, Completed and Archived Sessions

 

How to Add an External Training in AlamoTALENT

If you have attended a conference or training session outside of the Alamo Colleges District, be sure to add it to your Employee Transcript in AlamoTALENT!  By keeping track of your job-specific development hours, you’ll be able to ensure you showcase valuable trainings you have taken.

Adding external trainings in AlamoTALENT is simple. Just follow the steps below, and you’ll be able to track your external development hours and upload verification.

  1. To add external training, hover over My Learning and click on View Your Transcript.   view your transcript option
  2. On the far right-hand side, click the options icon.  options icon
  3. Then, select the Add External Training option from the Options drop-down menu.  add external training option
  4. Enter the requested information and then click Submit. submit button

Note: Utilize the attachments section to attach items that verify your attendance. Here are just a few examples of what you can attach:

  • Course Certificates of Completion
  • Conference Agendas
  • Session Registration and Event Calendars
