Master Teacher Certification Program
Established in the Fall of 1998, the Master Teacher Certification Program is designed to provide quality learning experiences for new and experienced faculty members to actively engage in reflective and creative exercises and dialogues to enhance teacher effectiveness and student success.
The program is offered each Fall and Spring semester and runs for eight weeks. The program is administered in a hybrid format with most of the work done in Canvas and several face-to-face meetings.

Distance Learning Certification Program
The Distance Learning Certification program is offered each semester for faculty who will be assigned an online or hybrid class the following semester. Approval by your respective department Chair is required. The program consists of a review (and verification) of Canvas, an online course covering pedagogy and best practices for teaching online, as well as development of a course template that is formally evaluated by a participant's department chair and other members of the SPC Course Readiness Evaluation Committee at the end of the program. The program operates on a quarterly basis and participants have 2 1/2 to 3 months to complete the program.
Note: To use Canvas in your face-to-face classes, you only need to complete the Canvas Training course. To teach online or hybrid classes, you must complete the Distance Learning Certification program
