21st Century Student Learning Outcomes: Integrating Technology and Higher Order Thinking into Teaching,  Learning and  Assessment

Today’s and tomorrow’s students are faced with both required and recommended textbooks, hundreds of pages of research and information in diverse formats as well as diverse modes and methods of instruction. Learners struggle – in person and online - with finding, using, synthesizing and evaluating content. Although many disciplines have required multiple outcomes in both gen ed and workforce curriculum;  integrating information literacy (both higher-and lower-order thinking) outcomes is of critical importance for increasing opportunities for student success.

21st Century Student Learning Outcomes will define what 21st century learning outcomes are, define information literacy within the context of critical thinking, information fluency and higher and lower order thinking, and illustrate how IL supports student and  career success and lifelong learning.
