Session: Narrowing the Discussion

How do we narrow discussions (from Information Literacy, Information Fluency, Critical Thinking, Higher and Lower Order Thinking, Information Instruction, Computer Literacy, Library Instruction, Bibliographic Instruction, Media Literacy, Visual Literacy). . . to just one discussion?

The first step in determining appropriate, reasonable and most importantly - achievable – student learning outcomes is the identification of processes designed to guide learners in thinking clearly and critically about concepts, issues and ideas. Narrowing the discussion – while not particularly difficult – begins with identifying the myriad of definitions that exist and determining which processes are best applied to disciplines.
