Welcome to OLRN!

I am Adela Gonzales from Northwest Vista College’s Teaching with Technology, and I will be your facilitator for “Orientation to Online Learning.” The orientation is 100% online, and Canvas is the Learning Management System you will be using to access instructional content at Alamo Colleges. Your online instructors may use other systems or software in addition to Canvas; however, the principles you will learn in this course will help you be a successful online learner regardless of the technology you use.    

Course Objective: Upon successful completion of the orientation, you will be prepared to succeed as a student in your online courses. 

To help you learn to be successful in your online courses, we have put together several resources and hands-on activities. You should plan to spend approximately 1-2 hours completing this course. You do not have to complete it all at once; you may stop and continue at any time.

In addition, this course contains some hands-on practice assignments and a series of short videos created for and by actual online students.
