BB Collaborate & Canvas: Setting Up a Session

Blackboard Collaborate (BB Collaborate) is a web conferencing system with which you can create a virtual session where one or more participants:

• Communicate using audio, video, and text chat
• Use a whiteboard to present content, brainstorm, quiz, etc.
• Record and archive session for later playback
• Share desktop applications
• Conduct web tours

Blackboard Collaborate allows you to schedule sessions from various different LMS interfaces. If not visible, instructors can add BB Collaborate to their course by clicking on Settings and then under the Navigation tab, drag BB Collaborate to the “Drag and drop items to reorder them in the course navigation”. Be sure to click on Save at the bottom of the screen.  The following document provides step-by-step instructions on setting up BB Collaborate in Canvas.
