Course Syllabus

The Course Syllabus tool is a direct link to the Simple Syllabus eSyllabus for your learners.

All faculty are required to use Simple Syllabus, the eSyllabus tool, to make their syllabus available to the public and to students.

Simple Syllabus is accessed via ACES:

You can edit your Simple Syllabus eSyllabus from within Canvas, and you should always leave this tool visible in the left white course tools navigation menu for students. To edit your syllabus, click Course Syllabus in the left menu, and then in the first drop-down menu under Syllabus, choose Edit:

Syllabus

This is the built-in Canvas syllabus tool. In Canvas, the Syllabus is automatically populated with all assignments you have added to the Assignments list. It is also automatically integrated with the calendar and the grade book. 

The Syllabus tool is optional, and there is really no need to use more than one type of syllabus in a course.
