As you build your online, hybrid, and web-enhanced classes, be sure to keep accessibility in mind. In other words, it makes sense to make your course as accessible and ADA-compliant as possible before you receive an accommodation letter from the Student Accessibility Services (SAS) office.

How to Use the Accessibility Checker in the Rich Content Editor Links to an external site. : This built-in tool allows Instructors to check each page or item for common accessibility errors, such as font sizes and colors, and tables that are screen-reader friendly. UDOIT 3.0

Review: UDOIT Information Links to an external site. 

The Universal Design Online content Inspection Tool, or UDOIT (pronounced, “You Do It”) enables faculty to identify accessibility issues in their Canvas course content. It will scan an entire course, generate a report, and provide resources to address common accessibility issues. It identifies both errors and suggestions for improvement. UDOIT 3.0 is available in the Canvas Navigation in Settings.

Respondus

LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment in Canvas. 


Zoom

Transcripts: When you record a Zoom session, you can save it to the cloud and request that Zoom generate a transcript. Zoom will email you when the transcript is ready to be viewed and edited.

The Alamo Colleges adheres to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Sections 504 and 508 which provides equal access to everyone, especially those with sensory, physical, and/or cognitive impairments. Digital accessibility also allows any learner to perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with content on the Web and contribute to the Web.

Content components in Simple Syllabus allows instructors and template editors to add or edit rich text within the document through a Web-based word processing software. You can choose to create content from scratch or copy and paste from a desktop application such as Microsoft Word.
