Asset Funders Network: A community of foundations and grantmakers focused on increasing financial opportunity and security for low- and middle-income individuals and families.

Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas (Dallas Fed): Part of the central bank of the United States, the Federal Reserve System, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas works with other regional federal reserve banks to monitor financial risk, formulate monetary policy, and supervise financial institutions. 

Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA): A geographical region with a relatively high population density at its core and close economic ties throughout the area.

Poverty Threshold: The poverty threshold, used primarily for statistical purposes, is a dollar amount set by the US government that is calculated to be the least amount of income necessary to meet a person's or family's basic needs.

Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB): An agency of the U.S. state of Texas's government that oversees all public post-secondary education in the state.

Texas Workforce Commission (TWC): The state agency responsible of administering workforce development programs and initiatives in Texas.

U.S. Department of Labor (DOL): A cabinet-level department of the U.S. federal government responsible for occupational safety, wage and hour standards, unemployment insurance benefits, reemployment services, and some economic statistics. The purpose of the Department of Labor is to foster, promote, and develop the wellbeing of the wage earners, job seekers, and retirees of the United States; improve working conditions; advance opportunities for profitable employment; and assure work-related benefits and rights.

Workforce Development Area (WDA): A county or set of counties, designated by the governor, where local boards provide help to job seekers to access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and to match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.
