According to Clason and Beck (2003) a personal mission statement is “a paragraph in which you describe the kind of person you would like to be and define the key things you wish to accomplish in life” (p. 29). 

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

Complete your mission statement, add it to your ACES account using the instructions below.  View the "Mission Statement Creation PPoint Download Mission Statement Creation PPoint" for help with additional information and tips on how to complete your mission statement.

 

TASK:

  • Open MS Word and type your Mission Statement.
  • You should answer the following questions in your Mission Statement:
    1. What you want to Achieve/Goal(s)? 
    2. How will you achieve your goal(s)?
    3. What values do you have as motivation for your goal(s)?
    4. What actions you are doing to live by these values?
    5. Who are you doing these actions for?
    6. What is the legacy you want to leave?
  • Submit your Mission Statement to ACES:
    1. Step 1:  Log into ACES account
    2. Step 2:  Click Home Tab
    3. Step 3:  Click Student Tab
    4. Step 4:  Go to Web Services
    5. Step 5:  Click on Student
    6. Step 6:  Go to ‘My Mission Statement’
    7. Step 7:  Follow Directions to Copy and paste your Mission Statement to the text box, then submit
