Read this in order to understand the following scenarios.ppt 

For each of the following scenarios, your choice of responses will:

• Yes, that’s plagiarism. The student has put something in a paper that came from somewhere else, but did not say where s/he got it from.
  • DOING THIS COUNTS AS PLAGIARISM EVEN IF THE STUDENT DIDN'T MEAN TO DO IT.
  • Students who simply forget to cite where they got information from WILL be accused of plagiarism by teachers. 
• No, that’s not exactly plagiarism, but it is unethical (not honest).
• No, that’s not plagiarism -- but it’s bad research. The student is being lazy or doing a poor job, or citing incorrectly.
• No-- that’s permissible; nobody would have any objections of any kind to this.
