AUDIENCE AND PURPOSE

Again, an important question is once the evidence has been chosen to support the thesis statement, is “What is the best way to present the evidence?”

Yes, ethos, pathos and logos are all good techniques, but which one(s) should be used?

This choice depends on the AUDIENCE, the reader who will read the essay. Which technique(s) will work on this particular audience? Certainly, credibility, ethos, is good to demonstrate to any reader, but will this particular audience be more persuaded by emotions, or more by facts?

That is one choice to make based on reader/audience. Other choices that depend on audience have to do with the following.
