In case of inclement weather, class cancellation decisions will be made by the college president or Alamo Colleges chancellor. Employees and students may call the Weather Hotline at 210-485-0189 for updates about class cancellations or college closures. Closures will also be made available on local TV and radio stations. The Emergency Notification System enables the Alamo Colleges to schedule, send and track personalized voice messages to up to six phone numbers per person and immediately send messages via voice message, text message, email, or TTY/TDD receiving device messages. To enable this feature, please provide your contact information in ACES, Web Services, Personal Information.

What should I do if there is an emergency in my classroom?

There is a link on every classroom instructor PC station that will instantly notify Alamo Colleges DPS. Look for this button near the bottom right corner of your screen:

You should click this button only if you have an actual in-classroom emergency requiring police, fire, or ambulance.

What should I do if the alarm goes off during class?

Please listen to the voice-over instructions that accompany the alarm. If it tells you to evacuate or that there is a fire, calmly and quickly evacuate the building, moving to a safe, distant location. Ensure everyone is accounted for and await further guidance. You may also receive specific guidance through text messages, phone calls, and/or email from the emergency alert notification system.
